Iman is like the grand matriach of African Models. It can be argued that she kinda put African Models on the map. She was one of the first African-American models to sign lucartive campaigns. She started modelling at the age of 19 in 1975. Iman will tell you to your face that she is NOT all that for a Somali. Process that for a minute....This internationally renowed, world class supermodel and beauty icon is just an average looking Somali girl by Somali beauty standards..jigga what? Yeah...I know. It's true though ...her face for a Somali is sooo plain. However, she's tall and angular and has a killer complexion(like most somalis) and that's how she was able to get lucartive campagns with Yves St Laurent, Valentino, Versage, Donna Karen, Halston etc..Iman is the inspiration behind this blog so i will randomly and often be paying tribute to her..all hail IMAN...
